Frankie Piapa of the Campo Reservation has heard his grandfathers call, and gone on...  He will be greatly missed by all! Our sympathy goes out to the family!

Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, Chris Murphy, a visionary of the Kumeyya tribe, greeted his release from the pain and suffering of this world as a bright blue light, painting the universe as he shot through the sky ...
Asho, Brother, till we meet again!

Stuck in My Bed, Oh the dread!
Just give me the pills, and hide the dr. bills,
cause that gives me a headache instead...
Give me a bell, and come make me well,
and forgive any meanness I've said!
Cause I'm still trying to make a difference,
Even though I'm stuck in my bed.

Dedicated to Chris Murphy and put on his card... 12-5-2004.

Trisha Wilson, was one of my best friends in Campo!!  Her death on August 11, still lays unexplained with one, Judy Lynn Dupre, admitting accountabity with a "hit & run" charge that only gives her 3 years in prison!!  3 Years is NOT enough for my friends MURDER!!  Trish was young, beautiful, loving and a great person to know!! The mother of 3 boys, the one & only for her mate, most beloved daughter, greatest sister, cherished friend!!  That is how Trisha will remain!!

To Jose Becerra (Jan 1, 1953 - Sept. 7, 2000)  the crazy friend who was there whenever I needed a helping hand, or just a friend to listen to my nonsense, and understand ...I wish I could have been there in your time of need!   There should NEVER be any line that you won't cross for a friend..nor ANY  BORDER that denies you that right! Please visit the poetry.com and read Crazy Jose

In loving memory of Mr. Bill (Gary) Cross, born April 19, 1944 in Tennessee ~ July 16, 2000 when he passed at 4:13am at the Grossmont Hospital in San Diego, California, from cancer.  He was diagnosed just 6 days prior and had began treatment 3 days before his death.  He died in peace with family and friends at his bedside, where they said his last breathe was like a sigh of relief.

" Lord take into your fold this man of which I'm told, truely had a heart of gold though his demeaner often cold.  Tall above all others on the mountain he did stand; take his hand...and show him your glory. " Amen

Please light a candle for these pillars now fallen down....
Would you like to nominate a Pillar of our Community?  Maybe we can even have a vote at the end of the year for the strongest Pillar???  I Just think that it is important to remember the great ones in our community, both dead and alive!  I think the living will appreciate the sentiment the best, but who knows...

My friend shall not be Forgotten!
I know her children still cry, just as I do when I miss  the stories you used to tell.
My Teacher who left too soon...leaving me versed in beginnings...
While you learn to ends...Is this the lesson I was to learn??

That time is NOT on our side!
Promises are NOT to be broken.
Nothing waits for tomorrow, for tomorrow never comes.
Put it off, and it is already done.
Friendship survives everything but death?

Or that,

Friends are few and far between...different worlds may divide but Friendship survives every fire...tempering the souls.

What is the value of a friend once they have died?
MORE PRICELESS THAN WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE!!

I apologize for taking you for granted!  And not saying goodbye!  Or hello from the talking lines more!  I just pray that I do NOT repeat this same disgrace to another friend of mine, and that I have more time to learn their songs, should I ever be so honored again!  Amen

The Facts:

Oct 3, 2001, Judy Dupre was sentenced to 3 years in prison for aggreivated Hit and Run resulting in the death of Tricia Wilson.  Her lawyer asked she recieve probation for this was her first crime, and due to "the type of person she has been for 38 years before this incident for which she's very remorseful" .Probation dept. concurred she should recieve 2 yrs probation.  However,
Judge ??, realized the true essence of the case before him noting that the HIT & Run laws were for those who by accident hit someone and from shock, and terror flee the scene.  In this case the victim knew the assailant, and he did not see that "she was remorseful for her crime, but remorseful for her predictament now"...  "That we will never know what truly happened that morning, only Ms. Dupre knows, and has relayed different scenerios for her actions"  But the laws state that she must be tried under the hit and run statue which allow a maximum of 4 years prison.  Judy Dupre is to serve 3 years in prison and 1 yr. parole, make restitution of $500, and whatever  other restitution this case should allow by another action."   And with that the family saw the laws of justice proclaim in silent halls, that justice had been done... at least mans' justice...For now, anyway.---------------------------------------------
